Sky Art Map
We created a free map for the Sky Art sculptures in Borrego Springs. These large metal sculptures—of serpents, dinosaurs, mammoths, wild horses, ground sloths, Sabertooth lions, and the like—were created by artist Ricardo Breceda over the past twenty years. They roam the open terrain under the vast desert sky. It’s a weird and beautiful sight.
For the illustrations, we traced the outlines of the sculptures and filled the with close-ups of the metal textures, creating a recognizable yet whimsical interpretation of each subject.
